hi ive justreplaced the fuel pump and cambelt on my isuzu trooper duty 3 litre turbo diesel 1998 model and when i try to turn the cranshaft pully with my ratchet it will ony move two turns then jamms up can anybody tell me what the problem might be
You must have #1 on TDC and the camshafts on the timing mark to fit a new belt , I rekon yer valves are fouling the piston .
Ignore the mark on the pump pulley .

- Yep , you got the cam to crank marks wrong.
ignore the fuel pump marks and get # 1 piston on TDC and get the cam pulley mark in line with the mark on the back plate , maybe you have to take the belt off to do this ,
The fuel pump works in any position as it pumps oil for the injectors as well as fuel.

- You need to take off the belt and get #1 on TDC then the camshaft on its mark and put the belt on again.
The TDC mark is on the back edge of the crankshaft belt pulley tight to the plastic cover The fuel pump pulley is not timed to the cam one since it only makes pressure .
