Question about 1998 Hyundai Elantra

Car key got broke inside car door

Hi,

while opening the car door (hyundai elantra) the car key got broke and half of the key is still inside the door. I am not able to open that door using key from outside. instead i have to open the other side door and open this door from inside. please let me know how to solve this issue. is it possible to take out the key or change the lock.

Try spraying some type of lubricant like wd40 in the key hole and using a small metal pick to dig the broken part out. You can also use skinny flat piece of metal like a nail file and place a strong magnet on the end of it with any luck it will grab the broken piece of key. Good Luck

sir, you need to open its door board and check its lock connected rod ..sometimes when we push the key forcefully then its rod get bent or removed from the lock..

Same thing happened with mine. It turned out that the power door lock motor went out. Since the handle or the switch can unlock the driver's door, both of these mechanisms are connected. When the door lock motor goes out it freezes in whatever position, it was last engaged.

Right side passenger door


inside door handle or linkage is broken ,youll have to take inside door skin off,inspect whats damaged and replace

I Locked my keys in my 2001 Hyundai Elantra


wellits a smilple thing they have this round wire with a handel and they will yake the strip of ur driver side window don't worry it can be put back no need to buy a new one . and he will push the wire that is connecting both the handels and then open ur door.
