Hello, my S-10 pickup will not stay running, it will start and runrough with foot on the gas pedal, the minute I let off it will die.Replaced filter and no gas leaking, also had tuneup done. I'm thinkingfuel pump? What are the simptoms of a bad pump? Any other ideas wouldbe great. Thanks!

You are gonna need to go to carquest or autozone or any auto parts store and find out how much a rebuild kit for your carb is gonna be. then when they tell you how much it is and you **** you self cause as an employee of carquest with my employee discount it was over 400 dollars for the carb rebuild kit.
so you need to go to a u pull it or junk yard find an s10 near same year and goink the carb off it. and install it on your truck. then you can take your carb apart and see whats up with it...i paid 20 dollars for the carb at the u pull it junk yard near where im at in gresham oregon...

I have an 84 S-10 that had the same problem. Mine would die when I made a left turn. I had to replace the fuel pump and have not had that problem ever again. If you have a mechanical fuel pump that is located on the engine block, you can go to Auto Zone and get one cheap. If you have an electronic pump I would shop around to find the best price.

Simply press your left foot on the clutch pedal, and move the stick shift to the desired gear. When doing so, please go off the gas pedal with your right foot.

My 1998 dodge caravan won't stay running. starts up but shuts down instantantly or when i take my foot off the gas pedal,

ok i have a 1998 durango with the 5.2L 318 engine. had trouble with a bad cell in my battery. I went out bought an optima red top battery for it 800cca. put it in and had same trouble. No start without putting foot on gas. wouldn't stay running without holding foot on gas. CPU has to relearn it's programming once you unplug it for long periods of time. mine was without power for about 2-3 weeks till i got new battery. Start with this.. first check under air filter make sure a squirrel hasn't made a mess under your air filter and it's clogging the air intake. Then pull off the lid to your injector cover ( the screw down lid coming from the air box ( with air filter in it) to "carb") make sure all your cables move freely. put that all back together and close hood. Start truck with foot slightly on gas pedal to get started. keep it at about 1k to 1500 rpm for about 1-2 minutes. Rev motor to about 2500rpm and let it die out if it will. Get out lock doors with key fob if you have it. if not make sure to lock doors. ( trust me it worked for me) let sit for 5 minutes. come back out and unlock door and relock door 3 times with fob ( if you have it ) or key if you don't have a fob. Then unlock it with the key and enter vehicle. Start truck as before and keep it around 1k to 1500 rpm again for about 30 seconds rev it up and should keep running. Mine did. I think the iac was stuck from sitting and has now since loosened up.
Good luck hope ti works for you.

1986 Toyota p'up starts, but won't stay running once i left off gas pedal

first i would look for a vacuum leaks get it as close to idle as you can when cold and spray carb cleaner around and also check to see if the egr valve is stuck open this will act as a vacuum leak but not detect as one spraying carb cleaner around carb cleaner with change the engine speed near a vacuum leak

Pickup died while driving it

You need to put a fuel pressure tester in the fuel rail and then determine weather or not you need the fuel pump replaced,if this is not the case then the throttle position sensor is likely the culprit.
