It is usually the neutral safety switch which controls the reverse kight however some vehicles had a seperate back up light switch which could be causing the light to stay on.

ok since you are a lady here is a easy way out until you can reallly take it into a shop OK?

if you know where is the fuse box, which is under the dash board on the driver's side look for the fuse which says back up lights , just remove it and you will be fine.

Drivers side quarter window on 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan opens when switch in closed position and closes when switch in open position.

The arm that opens it was attached incorrectly from the sound of it. Either that or at some point the had to repair the wiring harness and the crossed the wires.

1999 dodge caravan where is the reverse light switch Lights on on in reverse but sometimes stay on when selector moves to drive.

There used to be a switch on automatics called the neutral lock out switch. This served the function of keeping you from trying to start the car while already in gear and also turned on the backup lights. It was connected mechanically to the gear selector. The contacts would wear with age, causing starter and back up light problems . Suppose they have something similar these days. drop by a dealer and ask the parts desk guy. He will know what it is and where it is.

Hi- i have a 1999 Dodge Neon that started just fine this morning. i just tried to go some place and it won't start, the lights won't come on, there is no ''clicking'' noise, the power locks don't work....

i have worked on a neon before that had that same problem.so check the connections to your brake lights, stop lights, reverse lights, and turn lights.they could have a bad connection and its draining the battery.that was the problem i had so maybe your having the same exact problem.it had took me weeks to find that problem.i would jump start the car and it would run fine, let it sit for a couple of hours and the battery would be dead.so anyways ya check that i can almost bet thats your problem.

'99 dodge grand caravan, 3.3ltr, battery light coming on, battery and alternator both test good, checked connections and wires they seem ok. multimeter check 12.4vdc engine off, 13.2vdc(+/- fux) engine...

you should have 14.5 +/- with the AC on you might have a week regulator or week brushes in the Altenator . but not enough at this time to cause a no start . but do have the alt tested (Load tested) at a parts store .

Tranmission problem on 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan

When the trans. sticks itself in 2nd gear and stays there is because it's detecting a trans. problem and puts itself in "limp in" mode. When it happens again, to somewhere to have a scan done on the trans. so you can find out which sensor on the trans. is acting up.
