1 Answer

Oil Pressure Not wanting to step on you, the issue with the Sequoia is really fixed by replacing the printed circuit board behind the inst cluster, thusly replacing the combination meter ECU. If you want, please comment back to the Client, he needs P/N 83291-0C012-RP if he desires a permanent repair... BTW...The "Experts not seeing comments is being looked into".

I'm not here to step on true experts. The BSers, yes indeed. You, nope.

I hold you with a very high regard. I just wanted to get my BTW to you, (off of the lounge) and the Toyota Q caught my eye.

Well, I am not a mechanic, I give free advice on what I think I know, more than a correction it was a top up, I told the user that the gauge can be faulty, sure I did not know control module details and PN.

The important think is that experts post solutions only when they think they can contribute, and not just to leave a comment.

2003 sequoia,The oil pressure gauge reads low and floats around. I had an earlier sequoia that the sending unit was replaced for the same problem. Is there a SSC on this problem?

There is no Special Service Campaign on that issue. There is, however, a TSB on that issue, and the fix is to replace the sending unit and the gauge.

Hook up a manifold gauge (mechanical temporary use gauge, used by mechanics) and test the oil pressure. You probably need to replace the gauge. The computer sends info through a printed circuit board behind gauge cluster and sometimes you have to replace the whole gauge cluster.

Its a 2000 lancer

the problem will more than likely be the printed circuit board on the back of the instrument cluster. to remove this lower the steering wheel to its lowest position. there are 2 phillip head screw in the top of the surround remove these and pull surround out. there are 4 screw ,2 top and 2 bottom which hold the instrument cluster in place.remove and then pull the cluster toward you and out. I found the crack in mine to be on the long turn over section which turned out to be between the oil warning light and the hand brake warning light which in my case stopped working along with the tacho and speedo. I repaired the crack by scrapping off the lacquer coating and repairing the track with a circuitworks Conductive Pen - Micro Tip made by chemtronics and purchased from **** smiths ( fairly dear though aprox $40 ).
