An aerial 9antenna) problem maybe cableproblem its grounded for FM [ just connect a single antenna wire on the core to test] mw its some times with a ferrite rod on the back side of the radio can get better may be it can sometimes be unfolding.
fm needs a much shorter aerial to work than am.if the antenna is broken or missing, the am can go out.barring that, the radio is no good .the trim panel on the front pops off and there is 4 bolts holding in the radio.there are 3 plugs on back and the antenna cable.check that it is plugged in.
