Yes the car has overheated before and I would stop and let it cool off, but the coolant was just leaking out of the bottom of the car and when i put more in it would leak out as i put it in!!

I cant tell you exactly what it is cause im not ther but you have to go under the car and detect where the leak is coming from....try radiator stop leak if it is a smaller leak it will stop it for a couple weeks. if it is a large leak as i think ur saying go under the car get a rag and clean off the fluid. keep on looking towards the top(on water pump, on engine block by intake manifold)and see where its coming from...i had the same problem it was my water pump...if its the manifold and its small get hight temp RTV sealer an try that....could be loose hoses or crack in radiator...you gotta look. good luck

Has your car over heated because it sounds like it has and caused the crack in whatever is leaking to get bigger. I would put a hose in the filler hole and turn it on just enough to allow a little water to run out and look for where the leak is coming from and go from there.

Gasoline or exhaust fumes? If exhaust, you have a leak. If gasoline smell, tank may be over full and vent may be clogged.

1994 Caprice LS. Little to NO heat.

It will be the heater core. If you can smell it inside the car and it's steaming up the windows the core will need to be replaced. Remove the heater core housing and check to make sure its leaking from the core itself. You might get lucky and have a leak from the hoses running to core instead. Hope that helped.

Evil caprice

head gaskets can\will leak between the head and block. I would also check where the intake meets the heads. But normally if its leaking there itll get into the oil.check for puddles where the intake meets the block in all four corners of the intake. At the beginning of the cold weather did you have good coolant in it? you may have a freeze plug partially popped out.that, normally that will be caused by weak coolant but they can pop out by age.A freeze plug is a much easier fix than head or intake gaskets.
keep me posted thx.......

Coolant leak/head gasket

If you have a head gasket leaking, and your engine is blowing a white smoke from the exhaust pipe, then you're taking coolant/water into your piston/s.

After a heavy acceleration your pressure is forcing more coolant/water into your cylinders..but don't be fooled..water/coolant is also getting into your cylinder/s when you're driving slow too.

You should get the head gasket repaired as soon as you can, or the head gasket may very well let loose and then you get to deal with having the heads shaved if they warp from the heat.

Either way..you really should get the gasket replaced soon.

Coolant leak under the motor

The leak is probably coming from your radiator's drain hole. Try looking under neath your car at the bottom of the radiator and see if the plug is in (driver side).
