Question about 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab
High oil pressure reading when cold
On my 2003 sierra I had the same symptom and it was the oil pressure sending unit. It is located on the top of the engine to the rear next to the firewall on the 4800 engine. As for the speedometer issue GM issued a recall for the instrument cluster. I don't have the letter in front of me but I do remember it saying vehicles with less than 70,000 miles or 5 years are covered. Consult your dealer for more details.

the knock sensors are located below the intake plenum,or,upper intake manifold as some call it, they screw into the lower intake, the front one is sensor 1, the rear is sensor 2. it is wise to change both if you have some miles.since you are going to be buying a gasket set to do this job.the sensors are cheaper than the gaskets.
