Check engine light

My check engine light is on from o2 sensors getting low voltage, and also speed sensor failure. i have replaced the o2 sensors and the speed sensor. do you think i might need a new instrument panel? sometimes it will read on the speedometer and odometer and sometimes it doesn't. if i do need a new cluster will a 2005 model fit?

Have you erased the codes after replacing the parts? Disconnecting the battery for a few seconds usually erases them, maybe it will work for you.

Hi, I am getting Faulty codes P0036, P0056, P0141, P0161 in reference Bank 1 and Bank 2 for sensors 2 on 2003 CTS.I was told the sensors where changed but codes still appear?


If the sensors were replaced an DTC'S come back has to be a wiring problem or PCM ,
The ECM detects that the HO2S heater low control circuit voltage is between 2.6-4.6 volts when the heater is commanded OFF, indicating an open HO2S heater circuit.
Is the fuse open?
All four codes refer to the heating element circuit ! there is a relay in the under hood fuse box that supplies B+ voltage to the O2 sensor heating elements . I would change that or test the relay , videos on you tube on testing relays .

the code P0137 is low voltage o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2.. mean o2 sensor rear of catalyst converter has low voltage it should stay around .500mv mean converter cat.do is job.with a voltmeter test backprobe signal when engine running. by default key on engine stop around .500mv.

Under hood,passenger side mounted on the firewall,but ...
Could be something else ,crank sensor or cam,or ign.rotor ect.
The module like 3 hundred bucks.Try this ,turn the key
on-off-on-off-on( without out hitting the starter) the check
engine light should begin to flash.
Here is a code list,may narrow down the problem.
Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions and service hints. Fault Code DRB Display Code Description. Service hints. 11 No Crank reference signal at PCM No Distributor reference signal detected during engine cranking. Check the circuit between the distributor and PCM. 12 Battery Disconnect Direct Battery input to PCM disconnected within last 50 ignition key-on cycles. Normal if battery has been disconnected, otherwise check battery power and ground connections. 13** No change in MAP from start to run No difference seen between the engine MAP reading and the barometric (atmospheric) pressure reading at startup. Check the affected circuit. 31** EVAP Solenoid Circuit Short or open in the EVAP solenoid circuit. The computer ran the mixture to the lean limit of programming, but the O2 sensor still indicated a rich condition. L or R indicate left or right side O2 sensor. Faulty ignition components, high or low fuel pressure, or leaking injectors can set this fault. 53* Internal PCM failure or PCM SPI comm failure An internal PCM failure or PCM communications failure has been detected. 54* No cam sync signal at PCM No fuel sync (camshaft signal) detected during engine crank. No camshaft position sensor signal was received from the distributor. Problem with the distributor synchronization circuit. 55 N/A End of message code. A DTC 55 is used to end all DTC messages. This code does not show on the DRB tool and indicates a completion of the stored codes on the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (check engine lamp). 62* PCM failure SRI miles not stored Unsuccessful attempt to update Service Reminder Indicator miles in the PCM EEPROM (memory). 63* PCM Failure EEPROM write denied Unsuccessful attempt to write and EEPROM location by the PCM. I would greatly appreciate a list of check engine light codes for a 91 dodge spirit. I believe the code it put out was either: 1,2,4,7,5,5 3,4,7,5,5 This is for my girlfriends daughter, she was away at...


Not absolutely sure on the codes given. You can buy a Haynes or Chilton Manual at most auto parts stores for the vehilce. $20-$30. For a 1984-1995 Caravan the following codes are:
Code 12 = Number of key-ons since last fault or since fault(s) were erased. Battery to controller disconnected within last 50 to 100 ign key on's.
Code 24 = Throttle Position Sensor low voltage.
Code 34 = Speed control solenoid circuit. An open or shorted condition in the speed control vent or vacuum solenoid circuits,
Code 47 = Charging System too low. Battery voltage inut below target charging during engine operations. And no significant change in voltage during active test of altenator output.
Code 53 = Internal controller failure. Internal engine controller fault condition detected.
Code 55 = Completion of Codes.
Code 51 & Code 52 = O2 Sensor problems.
Buy the book to verify and compare.

I just get a 2000 lanos but the check engine ligth is ON when i put it the code reader says to me 2 codes : 1st code is P0137 and p1336 say a lot lf items but got to be only one of those , whath can be???...


Essentially the same as P0136, P0137 refers to the second oxygen sensor on Bank 1. P0137 means the O2 oxygen sensor's voltage remained low for longer than 2 minutes. This, is interpreted by the ECM as a low voltage condition and sets the MIL. Bank 1 Sensor 2 is located to the rear of the catalytic converter and should produce an output signal relative to oxygen storage capacity of the catalytic converter. This rear (sensor 2) sensor is less active than the signal produced by the front sensor. However, if the ECM senses the sensor is inactive, this code will set.

Symptoms There may be no visible symptoms to the driver, other than the MIL (Check Engine / Service Engine Soon) illumination.

Causes
A code P0137 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Faulty O2 sensor Exhaust leak near the rear sensor
  • Plugged catalyst
  • Short to voltage on O2 signal circuit
  • High resistance or open on O2 signal circuit

  • Possible Solutions
  • Replace faulty sensor
  • Repair exhaust leak near the rear sensor
  • Check for restriction in catalyst and replace as necessary
  • Repair short, open, or high resistance on o2 signal circuit
The other code is your crankshaft position sensor. You need to replace both of the sensors and the check engine light will go off.
