Question about 1993 Dodge Dakota

Separating bellhousing and transmission from engine

I am in the process of replacing all the clutch components in my 1993 Dodge Dakota 2 wheel drive V-6 engine truck. I'm almost positive that I have removed all the bolts and wiring, but I still can't get the bellhousing to separate from the engine. Could there still be a bolt that is difficult to find or something else that I don't know about which is hindering me from separating the two from each other?

    im having a bit of hard luck separating the transmission from my engine i have it all striped down but she wont pull away . is there other bolts or nuts that need to come off from the fly wheel or?how and were would i find them

Make sure you have the transmission supported and try to stick a pry bay between them. be easy and work slow. should start to come apart if everything is removed

you will need to remove fan shroud and transmission line along with upper and lower radiator hoses then unbolt the radiator the lift it up thru the top of engin compartment and do a reverse install.

93 dodge dakota manual trans need to know whats involved in replacing the clutch and how?

Like any clutch service or repair,you have to
remove transfer case if 4x4,& the transmission
on all vehicles.

Then remove the pressure plate,as I assume you know

Then the flywheel,have it machined & balanced &
put it all back with new clutch disc,pressure plate
& throw out brg.

Ignition, will not start, no spark att all... The camshaft provider tested its ok, seems to be no electricity going To the provider...

  1. The 1993 Dodge transmissions could be found in the Caravan, Colt, Dakota, Daytona, Dynast, Intrepid, Ran Van, Ram Wagon, Ram Charger, Shadow, Spirit, Stealth, Viper and W150. Each had a unique array of transmissions best suited for the model's design.
  2. In 1993, the Dodge transmissions varied between 3- and 6-speeds. A 3-speed automatic transmission was available, and there was a variant that included overdrive. The only other automatic transmission included 4-speeds. A 5-speed manual gearbox found its way into several of the 1993 Dodge models, and a 6-speed manual was equipped in the Viper.
  3. The number of speeds and style of transmission may have looked the same on paper, but it did not mean they were all the same. An automatic transmission in a passenger sedan could be geared drastically different from one in a truck. Transmissions may have the same number of speeds, but they may not be geared identically.
  4. Transmissions were used in the 1993 Dodge to effectively transfer power from the engine to the wheels of the vehicle. The power could be passed to the front or rear wheels. Models equipped with all- and four-wheel-drive had power at all four-wheels.

How do u get the fly wheel bolts took hook to transmission

The transmission bellhousing is bolted to the rear of the engine.
The flywheel (flex plate on automatics) bolts up to the rear of the crankshaft. The torque converter is bolted to the flex plate but not 'till the transmission with the converter installed and retained temporarily has been bolted in place. A clutch is bolted to the flywheel but not bolted to the transmission...the input shaft passes through the clutch disc that will drive it when in use.
Therefore, the transmission is never actually bolted to the flywheel. That connection is made and controlled by the converter or clutch. There are "direct drive" systems but they are never used in passenger cars. Those systems use a coupler or variable engagement process that depends on rpms of the engine etc.
To understand what you are working with more fully you can google "how an transmission works". I also suggest you obtain a haynes or chilton manual to aid you in putting your car together.
The entire thing is complex but simple...After reading up on it you will see what I mean by that.

The transmission is a 5 speed and its 2 wheel dr 93 Jeep Cherokee Sport.Where is the slave cylinder in the transmission located?

There are two versions...the easiest to work on is located on the drivers side of the bellhousing. The other version is inside the bellhousing and is part of the throwout bearing (there will be a hose connection going into the bellhousing and a bleed valve protruding from the side of the bell housing on those) This version is used on later models but I have seen it used when engine/trans swaps have been previously made. Clutch master is on the firewall on the left side of the brake master cyl.

Going from 4wd tranny to 2wd tranny

If you're going to change out your 4 wheel drive for 2 wheel drive, you will need to remove your transfer case, front drive shafts, and transmission. You will need a new drive shaft, and crossmember as well. Junk yard would be your best bet for the parts, but it doesn't make sense to eliminate your 4 wheel drive. It would be more beneficial to replace your transmission with a used one, or have your existing one rebuilt.
