Probably (but not necessarily) starter relay. you might check to see if insulation is worn off cables. (maybe when you supply power to the starter it is grounding out on the frame somewhere.) if all else fails replace starter.

1992 toyota celica wont start makes clicking noise replaced the battery still happens. how can i tell if starter motor is good

It is your starter. They are easy to replace. You could try tapping on the starter with a hammer while cranking to get it to turn. The other option is to add more power too it by jumping it and see if that works. If it starts by doing either of those things, its your starter. Wrecking yards would have them cheap. Good luck

The avance is go higher be it self when , i turn the car on or when i choose drive .. some times its go higher alone when its on after while i have more problems wish to help...

Hi,
a Lancia has an automatic engine advance to ensure that the air conditioning does not stall the engine.
I am afraid you will have to clarify your problem somewhat in order to obtain assistance.

Is it a Lancia Beta,...Lancia Scorpion, a four cyl fiat engine, a V4 Lancia engine? is it a Lancia Flavia?
A Lancia Fulvia?

Thank you for your enquiry.

Starter tests good. ignition switch on steering column replaced. still have starter problems. clicks when key turned, but motor spins only intermittently.

Will we know switch and battery are good, need to check for voltage at the big wire on the starter assembly, should always have voltage, that voltage comes from the battery right to the starter, while some one trys to start it, with test light check at big wire, if you have voltage at big wire, try hitting the starter, could be stuck, if you have voltage but goes away while trying to start, check connection's at starter and battery, also check body ground

Starter works but wont turn over in the car 1992

Sometimes cables look good but may actually be bad, get an ohm meter disconnect both ends of your cables and check for resistance, it should read almost zero, if it higher then I would replace the cable. Also check all of the motor to body ground connections, most cars have rubberized motor mount's and the grounding straps have to be in place & in good condition. Good luck!

if the blue smoke is constant then it is valve seals and guides, if it is only after depressing the throttle then it is the rings

1992 prelude si - battery/alternator prob?

if you can charge the battery and drive it for a while then sounds like the altenator has failed and is not re-charging the battery, good way to test is to charge the battery, start the car and turn the light on, if everything is dimm or the motor dies there is little to no charge voltage, and will require altenator work

Starter replacement......needs to know how many cylinders my cars has

The starter has no cylinders. it is an electric motor powered from the battery and ignition system.
The chevy cavalier has a 4 cylinder engine though.
