BMW 318 Automatic - Gears

BMW 318 Automatic - Gears do not change smoothly, when slowing down gear change to a lower gear occurs with a ****. Some times, even when going faster gear change to a faster gear is not smooth. Could you please let me know why this is happening?

something may be loose or soo old it may need replacing if worn from miss use or hard work or pressure for your own safety
