Question about 1985 Plymouth Gran Fury
1985 Plymouth Gran Fury ,87000 miles, sat up for "unknown"amount of time........problem: pump gas bout 2wice it'll turn over & start ,it will go down the highway for about 10 miles or so,and starts acting like its running out of gas or somthing (more so going up an incine,it seems like),turn key 2 off position let sit there bout 5min,pump gas a couple times and will usually turnover & start. parts already replaced: fuel filter, new carb.,fuel pump,brain(2wice)& alt........all that i know of
Have you changed the plugs and leads, if you don't know the last time it was started there is a few things you need to take into account, engine oil and spark plugs fuel filter even the fuel in the tank empty and replace, coil and the points ( if upgraded there is no coil and points as been converted) you would also need to clean out the carburetor as old fuel drying can block or limit fuel entering the engine. change air filter. even standing an engine for a year or 2 these parts can degrade as they have not been used. also change the water and flush the system and refill with coolant/antifreeze.

SOURCE: accelerator pump problem
I would change gas brands, it may be an additive they use, have seen this before on my own car, a 1973 NOVA, I went to a carb shop they sold me a Viton rubber pump, changed gas brands installed the pump and problem went away.

1. 1995 Plymouth Acclaim Sedan, 4 cylinders. 2.5 litter Repair Fuel Pump Steps or Procedure?
Replace the Fuel Pump and still not start.
2. What I need to do to remove the Fuel Pump and put the new one in?
Remove the ground cable or negative cable of the Battery.
There is not was pressure inside the gas tank, maybe because the fuel pump issue.
Was not easy repair job, to remove the filler neck of the gas tank. I have to disconnected first of the outside to be able to jiggle the filler neck to disconnect of the gas tank.
And I think was the start relay issue. I just bought the start relay and I will find out when I get home. When I should installed the start relay, will find if it was the Start Relay.

I'm going to assume you have a 318? Also going to assume that the wires and plugs are in good shape? When it's not starting, do you have spark? If not, do you see spark for any part of the time when you crank it? Have you made sure that the carb is OK and not flooding the engine?
What I just said is'nt a "fix...yet...I need to know this stuff first.

SOURCE: Car shuts off
I would check the Idle Air Ctrl. valve.if not opening when coming to a stop eng will starve for air cause air is not bypassing the throttle plate when the plate is closed
