I was going down the interstate in my 2003 cavalier ls sport, when the track off light flashed and the car seemed to die, but took off again. Then a few miles down the road it came on again, and again the car seemed to die, and this time it did. It was the fuel pump.

With the 2.2 eccotec engine it sounds like the ignition module the trac of light comes on with the check engine light you are probably throwing code p0300 random missfire. the ignition module sits on top of the engine is silver with fins it is held in with three torx screws and runs about $100 dollars. running you car in this condition can severely damage your catalytic converter. hope this helps.

2008 chevy tahoe delayed start

The list of possible causes is long.
You'll have to figure out if it is fuel or ignition related to proceed.
I would check fuel pressure and spark first.
If you can't duplicate the symptom it may be tough to diagnose.

2004 Chevy Cavalier engine light and trac off light

One year ago---your check engine light came on
The PO405 code was for an EGR Valve issue
No mention--- if you had that fixed

A Few Days Ago---you get Trac Light on,that is part of
the ABS Braking System
Now that system has to be diagnosed & repaired, not just
continue to use the car, actually make the repair, before
you do some damage or can't stop the car & worse things happen

Changing Trans Fluid---is NOT a FIX for anything, but should
be done on all vehicles every 3 years.

If the Engine Management System isn't working correctly, then
your trans won't work as it should either

You need to be proactive & immediately have any abnormal
operation or check light problems, at least diagnosed in a few days
of noticing them

You need to stop using any car that isn't 100% & have it
repaired as soon as possible.

Not wait weeks or years.
Being 9 years old, the trans may also have it's own issues

My 2004 Chevy Cavalier became sluggish and acted like it had no power or gas there is gas in the car. She wants to turn over but wont could it be my fuel pump? or is there a fuel pump reset...

Inertia Fuel Shut Off Switch --- is only on Ford Products

Turning over & Cranking is the same thing

Starting or Running is as you know it

So tell us in more detail

You can not guess at wether you have fuel pressure
or a bad pump

2004 chevy cavalier wouldnt start replaced fuel pump, filter, checked fuse and relay . Started up drove about 20 miles then went out to start it and wont start fuel pump not pressurizeing

Check your O2 sensors. They will give that affect and work only when your engine heats up. If the car cools down and starts up again, that is a sign that your O2 sensors are shot. Replace them.

Hello. My 2004 Chevy Cavalier will not stop. All lights on the panel and it even turns over but it won't start.

check if you have fuel.a fuel pump is a common problem on cavalier.get an assistant to hit the bottom of the fuel tank with a rubber hammer while you crank it over.it should fire up.if it does it needs a fuel pump.don't attempt to drive.it will die again.

Fuel pump or something else

Hi the trac off light and the car not running have nothing to do with each other
the TRAC OFF LIGHT will set a code in the EBCM
to check the fuel pump remove the gas cap and have someone turn the key to run and while you listen at the filler neck if you can hear a humming noise then the pump is working
if the pump is working then check fuel pressure and spark
hopes this helps you
