A voltage drop from 12 to 6 volt or find the cuase of it

I'd start by checking ground connections. How are you checking voltage at the relay? Across the coil, or coil to ground? Coil to ground is important to check.

Need a wiring diagram for a DEH-X6600BT. IT'S GOING IN A 1993 CHEVY ASTRO VAN. I KNOW KNOW THE WIRES OF THE VAN. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO CONNECT TO ON THE RADIO. THAY ARE DIFFERENT COLORS.

I hope someone comes along who can help; in the meantime, you might try the following. Naturally the power wires will be 12V and usually red(+) and black(-), if they're not, you can examine the other colors, to determine if their are separate ground wires for each speaker. If it uses a remote, and you want to hook that up; I can't help. sorry. But, if the speakers have a common ground, there will only be 1 wire for each speaker, the other connects to the ground of the car. If there are two wires for each speaker, they will be 4 different colors, with a 2nd wire which has the same color for all 4 speakers, so each speaker has a colored wire, and a common colored wire. This will leave the power connections, unless you have other controllers (see above).

One you know which are the power wires, you can connect them to a spare 12 V battery, and then comes the fun part. While adjusting the radio for front back, left and right, using the colored and a common wire for each speaker, this will be the same as the ground wire for the power even if not the same color, you can connect it to ground for the test. Then connect the colored wire and common wire to a speaker, by adjusting the controls you can find out if that colored wire is for front or back, left or right. Then you'll have your color code.

Although prolonged use of only one speaker or only two could cause damage to the radio, short use to troubleshoot at low volume shouldn't be an issue. Just don't use it that way.for a long time!

I hope this helps. Let me know.by rating up my answer! :-)

Aftermarket Radio Problems

Take the connector out of the radio for the speakers, measure from chassis ground to the negative of a speaker, if you get 4 ohms,,,8 ohms something like that, then I believe that the negative on the radio for each speaker is not to be connected to chassis ground of which the speakers are, if you got the resistance to ground i mentioned before. Most all car radios today have the 2 leads going to each speaker, just because it may say - (minus) on the speaker doesn't mean ground. So, if one side of the speaker is grounded you have to remove it from ground so nothing is grounded. If caddy only has one wire coming from the speaker, your will have to run a single wire probably to each speaker, but check what I said before. I will check mine tomorrow and let you know. I have the same car. I still have the original set up.
