Disabling a front passenger airbag in a 97 eclipse spyder?

Disconnect negitive battery terminal at battery. Wait 1 min. Remove glove box lid and unplug yellow wire on air bag. Reconnect neg terminal.

First you must disconnect the battery from the cables and let the car sit for about 15mins. Make sure their is no power to the vehicle whatsoever!

Fact: Airbags are filled with chemical components that react when an airbag sensor sends an electric current, they are not under pressure and cannot go off without electricity.

Then you're option is to remove the airbag completely or disconnect the power lines from the airbag combustion unit.

This is not something you can do all the time so once you remove the airbag its a pain to put it back in and take it out as you please. Good luck!

Hello, The only way to disarm is to disarm both. I will state that this is illigal in most states if not all of them to disarm your airbags. To disarm them just pull out the fuses that are labeled for the airbags. This is the easiest way to disarm, plus not noticeable if it is illigal in your state.
