On my truck I replaced tumbler but it seems that the problem is into the area that the tumbler inserts into. I can turn the key but but it turns loosley and does not activate the ingnition process.

Turn the key to the on position. look for a small hole in the cover on the bottom side of the steering column, about an inch or so back from the steering wheel. I usually use a small allen wrench with some length to it, but stick something like that in the hole. you will have to feel around a little bit but it should go into the ignition tumbler and it should release it. while pushing that in, pull on the key and or tumbler to pull it out.

Hi, I have a Ford F 150 5.0 pick- up truck. I cannot get a spark from the coil at all. What could the problem be?

Check for 12 volts at the coil with the key on. This system uses a hall effect pick-up which is located in the distributor. Along with this pick-up you have either a (TFI) thick film ignition module or a duraspark ignition module. If you have a TFI it will be mounted on the side of the distributor. A duraspark module will be mounted to the drivers side fender well. In most cases, the pick up in the distributor is the root cause. If you have a TFI module, the pick up and module are usually replaced as a pair. Good Luck.

I have a 1990 ford f150 it will not run when you take your hand off the key, If you keep the key in the starting possien it will run but dies as soon as you let off the key.

I've had this once. The run contact on the ignition switch is shot, but the ignition contact in the start position is still good. Replace the ignition switch.

Don't have voltage in the fuel pump conector of my 1990 FORD F150? Fuel pump is OK.

Have you checked the fuel pump relay?and you know the fuel pump relay cuts off after about 2 seconds when turning the key on?So be sure the test light you are using is attached when turning the key on,it will come on,and then go off in about 2 seconds. The problem maybe the ignition module,or the pick up coil, the pulse the injectors, that deleiver the fuel to the cylinders.

Wont start or has problems starting

Chek fuel filter first, and replace if it hasn't been changed in a while. Then if it still has problems starting, check ignition module. Make sure all grounds are tight and making good contact as well.

I have a 1990 ford f150 and i cant get it to star it looks like there is no spark i change the ignition coil the ignition module and pick up coil and still not star

Do you know if your starter is bad? If you have not had this check perform these simple steps to check your starter. Place flathead screwdriver on top of your selonoid switch and another screwdriver to the positive battery terminal. If your starter is bad then vehicle should start this way. If you get fire this way replace your starter.

Cant get any spark

You're not getting spark out of the ignition coil? Do you have power to the coil? What about ground? If you have spark from the coil to the distributer, but nothing coming out of the distributer, then check your cap and rotor.
