The firing order is; 1-3-4-2 and the rotor moves in a counterclockwise direction. Turn the crank shaft and set the engine at TDC (top dead centre). This ill set the rotor arm pointing at No1 cylinder. From this point you can replace the HT leads in the above order.

My 98 prelude wont sttay on.. i replaced the alternator, batterym spark plugs and wires.... everytyme i get a jump it comes on and as soon as i take em off the car shuts off

Well, you seem to have replaced parts that I would have changed in the course of trying to solve a starting/charging problem.
And a tune up problem.

I would recheck the connections at the battery and clean with a wire brush if necessary.

However, the alternator, if working correctly, should keep the car running after you start it with the jumper cables. There's something wrong there, I think.

I would take the valve cover back off...It really sounds like something is under there. I have seen people leave sockets in there before. Also take the plugs back out and see if you can look inside the cylinder for a piece of the old plug. Also try using a telescoping magnet avaliable from any parts store....

91 honda crx suddenly would not start

the stock ground wires are kind of **** , my wifes honda did the same thing so i priced a new stock replacement $60. so instead i got 5 ft of 2 gauge cable, a new marine style battery terminal (with the brass wingnut), and 4 crimp style 2 gauge cable ends, which only cost me $15 and took about 10 minutes to put together. this was after i replaced the battery and the starter relay (descovered it was unneccesary through process of elimination)

Vacuum line or spark plugs?

If the vac. line went to the distributer cap you need to get a new 1 take off the line and take it to the auto parts store and get a new 1. What that vac. line does is adjust the timing when you give the car gas. Did he make shur to gap the plugs to the wright gap? If he did and you put a new vac. line on check all of the vac. line if they have cracks change them. If the still runs ruff he might have moved the distributer, or he might have got the wires wrong if he changed the spark plug wires. Change the vac. lines first they are cheap.
