Question about 1996 Dodge Caravan
My ac compressor went bad...Now the pulley squeals and smokes. Instead of replacing the compressor @ $300-400 here. Can I simply replaced the serpentine belt...bypass the ac with a shorter belt?
Unplug wires going to the compressor, and let it freewheel, if it's not noisy in that mode. A/C compressor won't kick in if not connected. A lot less hassle than going the other way.
