Yes, freon must be present in the system in order to circulate the oil that lubricates your compressor. A low pressure switch is used to stop the compressor from running if the freon level/pressure is low. This is to keep your compressor from destroying itself due to lack of lubrication.

There are also several other reasons that an A/C compressor will not engage. Proper diagnosis is required.

this cases you have to re connect in A/C S.W. if this problem comong with your vehiclefrom first time . need to check wire by code for compresor line in the socket goes to A/c s.w and re connect with + line in same socket .in case replace high presure sender on high presure line and check freon pressure / quantity 550 gm .

this sound from expansion valve , befor refrigarator . this valve for balance presure between high/low presure lines . the drier should replace (more laod to compresor ) leve the vehicle for 20min and check persure high/ low mustnot big difrent

after you get 1 or 2 cans of freon in it will come on.
turn cans of freon upside down to put in
will go in faster.

hi BE SHURE TO CHECK THE FREON GAS YOU ARE FILING IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE R12 IN THE SISTEM.THE R12 IS THE ORIGINAL FREON GAS THAT MODEL CAME WITH.IF THE AC SISTEM IS EMPTY THE AC COMPRESOR WILL NOT OPERATE UNTIL IT HAVES SOME GAS PRESURE SO WHEN YOU FILL THE SISTEM WITH THE FIRST BOTLE OF FREON IT WILL AUTOMATICALY START TO OPERATE ON AND OFF UNTILL THE SISTEM IS FULLY CHARGE

The ac is blows but the air is not cold.... the compressor is working the ac clutch may not be engaging

if refrigerating system low in presure(low refrigerator level)presure sensor wil not send signal to engage clutch...the second think if system under normal pressure check electrical connectors if they ok,a/c compressor is faulty.

Hi, you should never bypass the compresor because it may cause damage to the sistem including the compresor,even if the sistem is charged if it gets a little low it may prevent the cluth to engage to prevent damage ,be sure that you have the proper freon presure.also check the ac relay and the fuse.....good luck
