Question about 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE
2003 PONTIAC GRAND AM
I was driving home got to the drive way and half way up the drive way the car cut off an would not start again. it will turn over but not catch. ut come to think of it yesterday when I was driving when I was accelerating the car acted as if it wanted to cut off
My husband and I just purchased a 2001 Grand Am for our daughter. We brought it home and the heater was not working. My husband fixed it and the car would not start at all. We did a lot of research online because he is a must do it yourselfer and turns out that under your dash on the passengers side is a box for the security this system is connected to every function of your car. He rigged the connection that went to this box and wala! Anyway all research that we did said that if corrosion builds up or you loose that connection then your car will die even if you are driving 70 mph on the interstate. So in a nutshell does your security light come on when you turn the key. It could be as simple as resetting the system which all you do is turn the key to the on position the security light should flash leave it on for 10 nto 15 min. the light will go off, then turn the key off and then try to start the car that resets your system. Hope it works it was sure a headache for us.

Hey It sounds like your wireing is bad. Go to a mechanic and tell them to check the wiring to the fuel pump. If it is it will take about 7 hours to do and if labor is 50$ a hour it will cost 350 to fix. I just did the wiring to a 2001 pontiac grand am se last week.
