Throttle mechanism on sport trac has to be serviced... the engine is a 4.0 L OSHC.. Do anyone have a procedure or manual to do this?

If you are talking about cleaning the throttle body, Ford does not recommend cleaning it with any type of brake cleaner or carb cleaner, as it can cause damage to the throttle body. This is true- DONT spray anything into the throttle body! If it is dirty enough to need a light cleaning, youll have to use a dry, clean, lint free rag with NO chemicals on it to lightly wipe down the inside of the throttle body. Remove the air duct that leads into the throttle body and then hold the throttle butterfly valve open manually with your hand. Use the cloth to wipe everything down, then reassemble. DO THIS WITH THE VEHICLE COLD AND OFF!!! This is just about the best way to clean the throttle body, just be extra careful not to damage anything as they are sensitive.

Thanks for asking!

2001 ford explorer sport,6 cylinder, rough idle and stalling....unplugged mass air sensor...seems to idle fine then...can u help me?

If there is a Auto Zone around your area, have them scan the Explorer for any DTC codes since it's fee of charge. But in the mean time buy a can of MAF cleaner and follow the instructions and also buy a can of Trottle body cleaner and follow the instructions on the can. Clean the MAF and the Throttle body, also try to get the Idle Air Control falve cleaned too which is on the throttle body. So use up the whole can of Throttle body cleaner and it would not hurt to use two cans. Once everything is cleaned that should fix the problem, the other thing to that would cause your poor idle and stalling is a bad or dirty EGR valve which can be cleaned with Carburetor cleaner since it's stronger then the Throttle body cleaner, just remove the EGR and spray the Carbon build away and place back in place. Note: the Carb cleaner is to strong for the gaskets used on the throttle body so don't use it on the throttle body. Good luck and this should help get your Explorer running 100% soon.

your plug wires are crossed. your close but you have 2 wires in the wrong place.the coil has numbers on it. 123456 i think from the belt going back the pass side first 123 and driver side 456 or vise versa you will know if the versa part is wrong. good luck.
