Radio problem... need a memory set to the radio

I put a new cd player to my car and i connected all the wire to the speaker and the power and somehow i turn off the acc and off and turn it back on, the radio reset it self. so i think it need the memory wire or something. my car is a 2004 jeep liberity. i just cant find the memory wire. i think the blue wire on cd player is the remote or the memory wire but the jeep blue wire is the power antenna. i connect them both together as color to color wire but it still doesnt have the memory set. so i need help?

Use a 12 volt DC test light, or a DC voltmeter & probe until you find one wire/terminal that has power constantly, whether key is on or off. That's the one to join it to, for your memory. Your radio power wire will go to the other unless you want to be able to have your radio working all the time when you turn it on, regardless of whether key is on,or accessory position, and if that's your preference, join it to same.

Cd play wires have been cut and dont know what the wires are?

one thing I learned as an electrician is to never expect a certain colored wire to mean anything specific. If you do not have an electric circuit tester get one and I'll explain to you what to do. First lets just say you're installing a basic standard cd player with 2 front channels and 2 rear channel outputs, and the factory system had 2 front and rear channels your wires are already in place and you don't need to run any new wires. Your new cd player's wires should be marked or you have an installation guide telling you what each wire does now you need to identify the vehicles wiring. You vehicle will have a ground wire, an antenna jack, a power wire that is constantly powered for the memory/clock, a power wire that is hot when the key is on to operate the player and 4 sets of speakers wire a positive and negative lead. Use your circuit tester to identify both power wires. Install your ground wire first or you risk shorting out or blowing the inline fuse if there is one on the main power wire to the player, next your antenna, then your main power, followed by the constantly powered wire for the memory. At this point your radio when turned on should light up, you can look in the trunk and identify both of the rear speaker wires to save you some time, you can figure out the front 2 after the rear speakers are installed by turning the fader to the front and connecting your cd players speaker wires to them there is a 50/50 shot so if you need to correct it. I would always recommend soldering wires together and using shrink tubing to shield them. Wires that are just twisted together or crimp connected can come loose and cause arcing from a poor connection which creates excessive heat and could potentially burn up your wiring or short out the radio or other vehicle components. good luck with your installation

I got a car stero with a cd player, the one I am taking out was

THe speaker wires from "new" radio will be in pairs ie;GREEN/ RED/ GREY / , They look like they are the same color but you will find a "tracer color" on one of the paired wires, ie plain GREEN / GREEN with a thin black stripe etc. The single Red will be Battery power the Orange will be Ign / accessory for the radio station memory. the other wires will vary but should be (possibly) panel illum/ power antenna/ aux power and ground wire . The radio will ground off the antenna connection .but should be connected at a later time . good luck .

Installing CD Player

i supose the am fm radio just dosnt cut it anymore well lets give this a try . first u must disconnect positive battery cable so you dont short any wires . remove screws that hold in factory radio pull radio out a feww inches as no to rip out any wires.next you must locate positive 12 volt power supply wire usually red or orange .if not shure connect battry cable again and use a 12 volt test light by attaching the ground cable on the test light to a good clean metal bracket under dashboard or connect to a black groundwire with a screw into the steel under dash next probe the wires goin into the factory radio ur looking to find power 12 volts once you have found the correct power wire use tape and mark it this will be the power wire for your new stereo next u must figure out what wires for what speakers osually 2 wires per speaker 2 rear speakers and 2 front speakers meaning a total of 8 wires follw me so far ? now disconect car battry again so not to have sparks and cut or disconnect remaining wires speakers first label all with tape and mark front right front left rear left rear right there is a + and - the wire with the stripe on it is usually the + the other wire is the - being negitive ground . this operation is important in order for your fade ballance controlls to work properly now with your new cd player inhand look and see what wire is gonna be 12 volt most times its red with a fuse eg white plastic connector small fuse inside there it a must proper fuse to protect new cd player now there will be a black negative this will go to the matal ground area under dash close to where cd player goes into dash red to the orig taped 12 volt supply now ur spks one pos+ and one neg or common to each speaker now make all conections with stereo before you push stereo into dash you must hook up car battry leaving cd player hanging out so you can make wire changes if you wish on the speakers you need to use one pos front right or rear right + with one common or neg black - to the spkr the same common or ground or - whatever its called one common or neg can be used for all spkrs .good luck tape and solder all connections after you feel all is good im sorry this is all the help i can offer you be careful
