Fan stays on when engine switched off

Hi i have a freelander 2001 2.0 td4 and when i switch the engine off it sounds as if the fan stays on but on inspection of the 2 fans they`re off and the sound seems to be coming from somewhere around the wheel arch by the battery compartment.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2003 HUMMER H2 BUT THERE IS DEFINATELY AIR BLOWING THROUGH THE AC SYSTEM. IS THERE A RELAY THAT CAN BE REPLACED OR OVER-RIDDEN TO ALLOW THE FAN TO TURN OFF WITH THE IGNITION? THE BATTERY DIES IF I DON'T UNPLUG THE FUSE UNDER THE HOOD.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2003 HUMMER H2 (BLOWER FAN STAYING ON AFTER IGNITION IS SWITCHED OFF) BUT THERE IS DEFINATELY AIR BLOWING THROUGH THE AC SYSTEM AFTER THE IGNITION IS SWITCHED OFF. IS THERE A SENSOR THAT CAN BE REPLACED OR OVER-RIDDEN TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM? THE BATTERY DIES AFTER AN EXTENDED PERIOD UNLESS I DISABLE THE FAN BY REMOVING THE FUSE UNDER THE HOOD.

I also have the same problem. That sound also comes when i am driving and about to break. The other problem i have is that oil leaked out and not from the Engine. One guy told me it was from the Gear box

This sound is from the fuel burning heater situated in front of the left front wheel arch. It'staying on because the relay is sticking and forcing the system to work.Repair this by replacing the heater relay found solo next to the engine compartment fuse box.

I have a 2002 freelander TD4 and we think the clutch has gone when u push the clutch pedal down it just stays there and wont come back up does this sound like the clutch has gone?

Sounds like a clutch control problem. Did you check the fluid in the clutch master? If you get a leak and run out of fluid this will also do this. This vehicle uses DOT 4 brake fluid in the master.

Can not find filter

Hay..It's easy to find....It's in the rear left hand Conner under the engine compartment..Always replace it in to the order..because sometimes td4 will not rev above 2000rpm if the fuel filter got blocks...
