First question when you try to move the seat can you hear anything happening trying to move ect, if yes then check the tracks for foreign objects coins ect...see it all the time the motors can get bound up if something gets stuck in track try using your weight to move in both forward and rear directions as the you activate the switch to try to free it up its not hard to unbolt the seat with simple hand tools and inspect the track. it could be something as simple as an unplugged harness under the seat, the motors dont go bad often, check you fuses and relays as stated previously if you have not power, but its usually the simple stuff like unplugged motor or switch or coins dont let a dealer overcharge you for something silly.

The fuse to check is fuse number three.

jimmy 2000 sle electric seat dont work only the lo - 97135ce.jpg

If the fuse is ok, then the sits should have an electronic control module, that can be faulty.

Here is the manual, check page 347 for fuse diagram, if the fuse is OK, go to a mechanic.

I will be grateful if you can rate the solution. since nobody here even bothered in finding a fuse map.

Thanks

There are two fuse panels. one is on the left side of the dash, you can see it when you open the drivers door on the left side of the dash. the other one is under the hood on the drivers side. it says fuse relay center right on top of it. check both of these.  hope this helps.

This is most likely a fuse which may be in between the door and dash where a panel has to be pulled off, or the motor or switch is faulty and will need replacing , or you can always take it to the dealer to get what you need for it

Hi,

I would recommend disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, let the modules "flash" and reconnect the battery. If this doesnt solve your problem, the scope may be beyond the reach of a common backyard mechanic. A TECHII handheld would be most the appropriate to diagnose.

Thank you.....

Hi
If your getting power on the orange wire at the switch, the circuit breaker is good.
If the switch is good, then it LOOKS like entire seat adjuster is at fault, as I do not see that the individual motors can be replaced.
Not saying they can't, you MAY be able to get aftermarket seat motors.
If it ends up being the seat adjuster (seat bottom) then you MAY also try getting one from a salvage yard in your area.
I Hope this helps.
Good luck

Does my 2000 jimmy SLE have a seat belt chime! dont know as i dont have the manual! and i just have a light on the dash and if so where is the chime located? thanks dont need a ticket for no belt!!

Yes it should be under the left side of the dash above where your left foot would be. If you hear a bell when the key is in the switch with the door open, then the wire for the seatbelt may be cut.

Left side of the dash, to the right of the IP fuse block. Its a 25 amp circuit breaker, an aluminum cased breaker. CHECK FOR POWER ON THE SEAT SWITCH "A" TERMINAL AND GROUND ON THE "D" TERMINAL. IF YOU HAVE POWER AND GROUND THE SWITCH IS BAD.

You may have a combination problem. Your system uses electrical/vacumn. The ducts are operated by vacumn being directed to different hoses by the electrical switch. If you can get to one of the hose with the engine running, pull one off of its ports and check for vacumn.
