Re: changing therm ostat
The thermostat is located at the end of the top radiator hose that runs near the radiator cap. follow the hose and at the end is your thermostat housing. the thermostat is inside the housing. Be sure to replace with same degree thermostat and in the same position you take it off.

You can replace the radiator yourself, but why do you need to? The thermostat is on the engine. Follow the large hose that goes to the engine block....not the water pump. The thermostat is under that or sits on the top of the engine....looking for a pic for you!
Follow the lower radiator hose to the engine. Most Toyota's along this year model have the thermostat located in the engine, where the lower radiator hose connects to the engine. Changing the thermostat is pretty straight forward. Refilling is a little trickier. Search the top of the engine and find the bleeder screw for the cooling system. Open this bleeder screw, usually a 10mm, or 12mm socket will fit, and fill the cooling system with the recommended coolant. Pay attention to your mixing ratio as well.
