Beeping sound inside cab of 1997 ford f150

Lately my battery has been running down, probably needs to be replaced. But, I've been hearing a beeping sound inside the cab when it won't start, several beeps, doesn't stop. Nothing is on, no lights, nothing on the dash. What is making that sound?

Disconnect the battery negative cable then reconnect. See if that helps. Battery life should run up to 4 years.if you replace the battery yourself , you may experience some check engine light or other lights on the dash. But do the same. disconnect the negative termonal and let sit then reconnect. you may have to do this several times. the computer de-programs when the battery is removed. you have to let it re-program itself.

Truck was running at idle, it shut down on its own and know the starter wont engage

sounds like a bad alternator. if the starter wont engage it means the battery is low. the only way the battery gets low is when the alternator doesnt work.

1997 f150 drivers mirror doesnt work passenger moves in and out but not up and down

If you can hear a humming from the driver's mirror the motor in it is probably bad. The passenger's mirror is on it's way out. Inside of the mirror the motor has the pivoting actuator that controls it. Depending on where you live they can get corroded and/or dirty. They're not entirely shielded from the elements as moisture and debris can get in through the edges. The fact that the passenger's mirror is still trying to work indicates to me that the driver's mirror has already passed that stage and it's not an unapparent electrical problem. Time vs. hassle and money. The simplest solution would probably be to change the mirrors. Maybe not the cheapest. But the easiest.
