I tried that but didnt work. I put a shift motor on and I got it out of 4 wheel low and it will not go into 4 wheel high. Only 2 wheel to 4 wheel low works, when I put it in neutral. I put it in park when I tried to put it into 4 wheel high no lites come on the switch on the dash and stays in 2 wheel. If anyone else has the same problem please help me. Thanks

On mine you need to put it into neutral and then engage the 4high or whatever dive setting you want funny it only happens when you select 4low - for me atleast

Our 2007 is stuck in low four wheel drive. The other lights blink like it's trying to go back where it should be but it stays in 4 wheel drive low. Any ideas how to get it back without having to t

Sounds like the 4x4 unit has not been used for a while. This is a common problem. If cleaning and reinstalling the electrical connectors dose not solve the problem then, try this procedure before replacing the control module.

Wont disengage out of 4 wheel drive 1998 ford ranger first time its stuck in 4 low we have backed up turned switch numerous times shut it off and restarted

Be sure to put the truck in neutral, while engine is running, while you disengage from 4 wheel drive (low) to 4 wheel drive (high) and then finally to 2 wheel drive. It is critical to shift transmission into neutral when switching out of 4WD Low, as indicated in your owner's manual. Hopefully, this will help to FixYa problem!

1996 K1500 Stuck in 4 low

I ran across this problem with another vehicle....try putting it in another position (2 wheel high, 4 wheel high) and rocking it from drive to reverse, drive to reverse. Also try backing up at a pretty good clip and stepping on the brakes hard.....hope this works for you.

1994 K1500 4 Wheel Drive Issue

No probably not, first check the fuse for the 4wd in the fuse box if that's OK its likely the actuator on the front axle..........providing the shifter handle moves to the proper location and if its push button the lights light in the switch when selected...the actuator plugs into the wiring harness and screws into the front differential.an easy remove and replace part even for a novice.
