Question about 2000 Volkswagen Golf

1 Answer

VW Golf TDI died as if the key was turned off; will not restart.

I checked fuses; several have no power to them but I cannot indentify what they are supposed to do. I cannot identify the relays and am not sure how to check them. I checked the timing belt; it appears to be ok. There is no power to fuel shut off solennoid. When the solenoid is powered by jumper it clicks but the engine still does not start. I bought a used ECM at the VW dismantler but it made no difference.

It acts as though it is getting no fuel.

Hello: My 1999.5 Jetta Died driving, everything works accept the motor.
You can jump the Fuel Pump and it will run, ( in safe mode )
I replaced the ignition switch. Same thing. I scanned the engine
I can't get it to read the engine, ( unless I had the fuel pump jumped
with power. and then a Fuel Code comes up.
Scanner works and clears codes for everything else.
    Thank You Alf

Vw golf 6 keeps blowing fuse 7 on engine compartment

You have a dead short in the wiring of the car or the component it powers on. The only fix is to get a wiring diagram and trace down the wiring for fuse 6 until the issue is found.

Wiring layout 2006 vw golf 2.0 tdi

Tony, searched the net. and posted links of what I found, passenger compartment fuse box fuse #17, 5 amp audio/radio
under hood fuse box/relay center #F19, 15 amp. and #F50, 40 Amp.
While googling did notice fuse locations may differ, if you have a test light, just simple, check all the fuses.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

My 2006 vw jetta tdi lost power and died wont restart am told need code to restart but dont have right code

You will have to have the fault codes read by a code reading machine . That will tell you why the engine stopped. I am suggesting that you check to see if the cam shaft is turning when you try to start it as the timing belt may be broken. Repair/replace items listed by the codes -reset the CPU with the code reader

My radio is dead after a battery change, could it be the fuse and i cant tell the smbol on the fuse card if it is

I have exactly the same problem. Just changed battery today on 2002 VW Golf TDI, and the radio is completely dead. Checked the fuse - looks fine. (Fuse 42 incidentally. Fuses are on the side of the driver's dash facing the door ie. only accessible once the door is open). Anyone know why the radio has completely died?

I have an old (s reg) vw passat tdi, I have no heating, I have changed the fuse, could it be an electrical problem Barbara

if your missing the blower motor in the heater, check fuses with a test light, check for power on both sides of fuse, turn key on,turn blower switch on and take your test light and check for power in the blower motor wires,is is under the dash and behind the glove box.if you have power the motor need replaced,if you don't chances are it is the blower motor resistor
