Many don't recommend it. because the problem will remain unsolved. But if you have to for whatever reason. Turn the ignition key oin , then disconnect the negative battery cable. turn of the key and reconect the cable.you will need somebody to help you.

Wrench Icon usually means needs service or call for service. If it cleared itself it could ave been a temp problem. Just watch for it again in the next couple of uses.

I have a 2001 saturn and the service light with the little wrench is on as well as the service engine soon is on. Now we have put an obdII scanner on it and it does not pop any codes. What can I do to...

disconnect the negative cable and let it sit for 5 minutes-hook it back up and let it idle for 5 minutes, then drive it normally for 5 more-resets all sensors, if there is something wrong the lights will come back and you should get a code.

I have a transmission leak on my 06 jetta 2.5. Can't find the stick to check fluid. Also under the mileage a wrench icon keeps flashing. What does this mean?

There is not a dip stick for the Trans fluid, it is a sealed unit. The wrench means it is time for service. The wrench can be cleared with help of the owners manual

1999 saturn light with a wrench is on. Disconnected batt. But that didn't work

Hello. this is a warning indicator. this light is on because there is either a problem with the engine control system, or even possiblity the abs unit. you will need to have the vehicle scanned for trouble codes to see why this light is coming on.

The SERVICE (Wrench) telltale is pulled to ground by the powertrain control module (PCM). When the lamp is pulled to ground, current from the ignition circuit flows through the indicator lamp, allowing it to come ON. The PCM will turn the SERVICE (Wrench) telltale ON for all non-emission related DTCs that require that a telltale be turned ON (some DTCs do not turn on a telltale but are stored to aid in diagnosis).
The SERVICE (Wrench) telltale will also be turned ON if the ABS control module has detected a fault in its own warning indicator system. If the ABS system cannot turn on its own telltale, a message will be sent to the PCM through the class 2 data bus (circuit 1807) to turn on the SERVICE (Wrench) telltale.
The SERVICE (Wrench) telltale will be turned ON for 2-3 seconds when the ignition is turned to RUN for a bulb test.

The service wrench light is on

it is most likely the reminder light for oil change intervals + such if just
want to shut it off disconect the battery terminal for about 10min that will clear it. just rember you will have to reprogram your saved radio
stations + clock unless you have access to an OBDII tool clear it with
that + you won't loose the stations or clock. hope this helps good luck.

Reset oil change light on my 2004 Audi 1.8T

  1. Turn off the ignition
  2. Press and hold the button on the left side of the display while turning the ignition on
  3. Service OIL will be displayed
  4. Pull out the button on the right side of the display until the service prompt is cleared
  5. The display should now read ---
  6. If the above procedure does not work, outlined below is an alternative procedure:
  7. With the ignition off, push the right button
  8. Turn the ignition on and then pull the left button
  9. This should clear the warning message --- I have a 2002 A4 Quattro. To reset that Service message, hold down the service button. That's the one with the picture of a wrench on it. While holding it down, turn on the ignition. Let go of the service button and press the "Mode" button just to the right of the service button. It should clear the display.
* This does not work in older models, like my Audi A4 /1.6, 1995. It needs the cable and the program ( e.g. VAG-COM). Even with this, clearing the code (IN1 or IN2) is quite complicated.
