Missing car my car is missing and i believe it needs a tune up how do i get to the back spark plugs. My water coolant light is also on and its not overheating.

To get to all of the plugs, use a plug-puller. You can find different styles and sizes (metric and american) at any auto store.

If your car is missing and you have a coolant leak and you coolant light is on let me the first to tell you that your intake manifold gasket is leaking , GMs finest intake manifold gaskets are made of some sort of plastic and they love to leak, especially in the 3100 v6 many probes with that intake.. as for the spark plugs in the back ,if you have front motor mounts that are accessible, remove them so you can tilt the engine foward that is the easyst way to change the back ones

My 1998 chevy lumina won't start right away and

The cooling system shouldn't be losing much coolant.

If you're putting in coolant regularly
If you're seeing slick oil in the coolant
If you're hearing noise in the engine while driving

You may have a crack in your engine block and your engine isn't being lubricated properly anymore. This will cause noise and leaks, make a motor run really rough and cause rough starting.

I suggest you bring your vehicle in for a coolant system pressure test and a chassis leak check. This should be a free service from any auto shop that wants your money for repairs.

Spark plugs usually degrade your performance slowly and don't make noise while doing it unless in extreme cases.

Good luck!

Take it back to the place you had the work done and make them fix it ... document what you have done. Your engine may have been damaged due to this error during a tune up. Pleas do not mention the name of the places which have done work on your vehicle. DO document what was and is being done.

Miss firing and /check engine light fregrently comes on

These have a lot of problems with ignition coils, so replace the spark plugs with the proper Motorcraft Spark plug, and a scanner will be needed to show which cylinders are misfiring, replace those coils. Make sure the misfiring cylinders when you take the coils out , that there isnt any water/coolant in the spark plug well.

Engine check signal and engine ****

Hi, check your water levels and coolant mix, this will cause your engine light to be on, if there too low or too high. For the miss firing, could be your fuel filter, these need changing yearly. Hope this heps

BASIC TUNE UP

Nowadays your basic tune up is a set of spark plugs, oil change and air filter. That is about it, and the spark plugs go for 100,000 miles. So even that is rare. Air filters get blown out, check the water in the battery and all the other fluids, coolant, brake, power steering, tranny. That is a basic tune up. Most people wait till something breaks to fix it. Hope this helps.

My 2002 trailblazer was missing, so I took it to the shop. They put a tune-up on it, but it is still missing. They said I need a timing chain, truck has 110,000 miles.

Timing chain usually does not cause a miss. It may run sluggish or even backfire, but a miss is like a spark plug with the wire off. Like a dead cylinder. Chevy timing chains do stretch but those engines can handle quite abit of timing. I had one with 120K miles and it was only off 4 degrees. That's nothing for chevy to handle. A tune up is usually nothing but a set of plugs and a hook up to a diagnostic machine. I would look deeper. Go out at night, start the engine with the hood open. Make sure you are in a very dark place. Look for sparks jumping from plug wire. Another way to to use a spray bottle of water. Spray a very fine mist of water around the wires. If they are bad, a spark will jump. Check cap for deposits. You can only hope that the plugs were gapped right.
Good luck
