A bad cam or crank sensor can cause a no start and a no bus meessage in the cluster if the are shorted. if possible try unplugging them one at a time and see if the no bus message disappears

It is the brain! I had the same exact problem with no bus showing in the window. It would sit there for a bit then crank right up but would take awhile. IT IS the brian but it costs!

I mean brain on that last part sorry. I put mine in the shop numerous times over for it cutting off for no reason and it was the lovely brain of the car.

Tip

Dodge Durango Won't Start, Turns over, NO BUS on instrument cluster

1998 - 1999 Dodge Durango 3.9L
2000 - 2001 Dodge Durango 4.7L
1998 - 2000 Dodge Durango 5.2L
1998 - 2001 Dodge Durango 5.9L

The PCM has 3 connectors plugged into it. Try wiggling each connector and listen for a clicking sound, starting with the connector furthest from the front of the Durango, and the middle connector with a white top.

If this doesn't help, replace your PCM. The PCM (power control module) can get hot, causing a short or broken circuit inside the module. Replacing the module will fix the problem. If your truck dies randomly when it's hot outside, but will start back up after it cools down, this is probably the problem.

My odometer code no bus and it wont start 1999 dodge durango

Check for a faulty crank sensor. Sounds strange, but we found this out the hard way in the dealerships, many years ago. Following the trouble tree usually lead to pcm replacement, and it still wouldn't run.

No bus signal on a 99 Dodge Durango and wont start.

A no BUS signal is a sure give away that your computer has an internal failure and needs to be replaced with a new or re-manufacterd one. This is a common problem with Chrysler still today on there newer models.

My dodge durango 2000 just stopped working at the stop light. I just put $40 in gas in it. Before it stopped it sputtered. It will still turn over but won't start. The dashboard light reads "no bus".

If you just put gas in it is possibly a fuel pump. It is common for pumps that are ready to go out will fail after a fill up - when the cool fuel hits the pump. It will still crank and all the electrical components will work - just no start.

No Bus Error

All the modules are connected together to communicate with each other via the PCI bus. It is possible that one of the modules is pulling the bus down.Since the vehicle won't start it could be any one of the modules. It will be a process of elimination to find the faulty one by disconnecting them one at a time. Here are a few, powertrain control module (the one you replaced) Instrument cluster, overhead console, anti-lock brakes, airbag. Since the cluster unplugged wont read anymore, just try to start the vehicle to see if that was the one. Otherwise see if the odometer message of "no bus" goes away after each one is unplugged.

Frost on inside of window

your heater core is probably leaking.....this is a big job to fix you'll probably want to take it to a shop to have this done as the complete removal of the dash is necessary
Good luck.........thanks for choosing FIX YA!
