Question about 2001 Isuzu Rodeo
Engine starts and runs fine but when placed in drive and accelerator is depressed vehicle shuts off. Have experienced hard starting. Replaced fuel filter still does the same thing. Please help. Thanks!
Chances are judging from what I've read about this transmission...
The fluid has probably never been changed unless you know it's been done.
My suspicion would be that the Torque Converter Lock-up Solenoid may be stuck in the "on" position causing your stall when you try to engage Drive.
This means the torque converter isn't allowing the slip you need to get into gear.
This may be a job for a transmission shop...
I hope this has helped.
