Question about 1986 Ford Tempo
My girlfriend got pulled over for her tailight being out one night, then the next night got pulled over again because one tail light stayed on when she was just driving. ive checked multiple fuses and wires looking for a bad connection. i did replace that bulb weeks ago. my next guess would be a solinoid or something. also, she has a light in the back between her reverse and her tail light that dont come on when the headlights do!? any ideas would be greatly appreciated

I would check your Auxiliary relay box. Check the R03 relay you might need to replace it. The Auxiliary relay box is located in the engine compartment (driver side)

Just found the answer on another site. Sure enough went out removed the 3 philips head screws in the steering column opened it up and walla a wire connection had pulled itself free. When my son uses my truck he always uses the tilt steering, when I get in I have to readjust it. because of this the wire connection pulled itself out. I simply pushed it back in an blinker and brake light are now working. My husband is now trying to figure a way to secure the wire connection so it doesn't pull itself out again. Hope this helps others, either by saving the cost of a dealership or machanic or from getting rear ended.

I had te same problem and cleaned all door switches with WD-40 and worked them a little. The problem went away Try that before you try to change a switch.

The dash lights and tailights are on the same fuse link. everything else will work like brake lights and turn signals but this one fuse causues alot of problems. Sometimes this fuses isnt marked on your cover so you might have to look in the maual to find the right fuse . some will be under the hood some will be under the dash .
Good luck to you all on finding this little fuse hope you find it before the cops pulls out behind you when its dark :)
