Question about Nissan Z
I just Bought a 1977 datsun 280z. the car started and ran as long as i shot carb cleaner in the air intake. so i know it has spark and i sounds like a good engine. i found that there was no fuel pump so i replaced it with one from my former 280z. but i got no power to the pump. i bypased the pump and got fuel to the injectors, but there is no pause to the injectors. after some reaserch i found out that my car was infact a 1978 model(Dec. of 77)
so i went to check my relays in the engine compartment and found that there was some tempering with some wires. although the relays look to be intacked along with their wires ( and the wire are getting current) i have found some thicker wires along with it that have been capped off. 1) does anyone know how i can check the relays? 2) does anyone have a picture of what its suppost to look like under the relay pannel?
Buy a new relay or switch one, then pull one at a time pulg in the new one to find out wich one isn't working.Just because there's power to it doesn't mean anything,it could be that the contacts are burnt together and theirfore not giving you the "injector pause" good luck.
