P2177 is Fuel Air sensor showing Lean mixture, so it is dumping more fuel and sooting up plugs and the catalytic converter. After fixing, you will need a system cleaning additive.

There is a security flap that is supposed to recognize only your car key. Sometimes this flap can get stuck down. The quick fix is to have the dealership get some WD-40 sprayed on it so it wont stick. The more permanant fix (and better fix) is to have the dealership replace your ignition. The ignition is covered under most warrantys.
well if the cable snapped you will need to try to get the front grill to pop out with out breaking it and look up and in to get to the little latch for the hood release.
