How to open the cover of power driver seat on 2003 Camry

My seatback cannot move down all the way to the end when I push the switch toward back direction It moves a lit bit and then stops. I can hear some noise when it stops. I think it is some kind of mechanical problem so I want to open the cover and find out what cause the problem.

Before you remove the cover take a flashlight and look very closely that nothing is obstructing the track, something as small as a coin could keep the seat from moving in whichever direction if it is obstructed. I will add more to this just in case, doing some research on it now, but in the meantime let us know by clicking solved if you tried it and it fixed it, thanks, Hope this will work,
Matt

How to get my 94 geo prizms back seats to fold down

old post but is a tricky feature, never posted here.

prizm = toy corolla.
so the operators guide is more easy to find.
4 0 million corolla's made, a world record.
and means facts on it not rare.
page 16 covers this, and has a special switch there,
to prevent what you are attempting.
per this drawing.

22020842-5jivdbcvwbjyt0yxwjt3tz1t-1-0.jpg "This system deactivates the lock release
lever so that things locked in the
trunk can be protected.
1. Push down the security lock levers
to lock the rear seatbacks.
On vehicles with built-in child restraint,
only the left seatback has a lock lever and
can be lowered. The right seatback cannot
be folded down.
After locking the rear seatbacks, try folding
them down to make sure they are securely
locked, otherwise, someone could
get into the trunk by folding down a rear
seat."

so if your car has this feature. and is ENABLED>
only locksmith can help you.
drive there and get it cured.
easy no?

now page 16b, with out this feature.

so we cant really answer, as we dont really know which car you have option wise. but i answered you, both ways.

Third row seat latched on left but not right

I just ran into the exact problem with my 2004 Suburban. Once I got the seat to lay down all the other mechanisms worked as they should and I could get the seat in and out as usuall. I found this post below which explained how to get the seat down. Wish I could take credit for figuring it out on my own but I can't.
"After working on it for a couple of days here is what I did to remove the 3rd row seat.
On the rear lower right and left side there are plastic covers, if you push the seat material forward a little you can see a hole where a nut holds it on, remove the nut. On the left side pull back the plastic cover and you can see the wire and the lever that releases the seat. With my foot holding up the #1 release lever on the right side I used an open end wrench to push forward the left side lever and the seat folded down.
I then used the #2 and #3 levers to remove the seat.
To view the whole cable, open the lower seat cover, it is an overlapping plastic clip, My problem was a loose cable, similar to a brake cable on a bicycle, after fixing it I have had no problems."
To remove the nut I used an 8mm socket wrench. My problem was not a loose cable but the #1 mechanism wouldn't pull up all the way, I'm guessing because that left side locked in out of order. I pushed that left side lever down with a hard tool and had my 5yr old daughter pull up on the #1 and the seat folded right down.
Hope this helps if you havn't already gotten it fixed.

How to remove grand prix window switch cover

Remove the two bolts on the bottom portionof the rear seat cushion.Pull the tabs along the bottom portion of the rear seat cushion until it unhooks from the floorboard mount. Pull the cushion out of the back seat area and set it down. Remove the anchor nuts. Push the seatback toward the rear and up to disengage it from the hangers. Pull the rear seatback out of the Grand Prix, preferably with the help of an assistant. Is there anything else you need?if you need an auto tool you can click here: great tools

Thanks to all for providing a quick fand easy way to get the seat moving again!

Where is the rear seatback release in the '03 passat ?

depends on market.
1/.pop the trunk and under the parcel shelf you will find two 1.1/2" square pull handles,or.
2/.on the outer edge of the seats you will have an oblong push button in the top of the seatback.
some markets do not have a rear seat that folds down, check in trunk to see if the seatback is steel or carpet.

Electric front seat stuck in forward position. It's a 2002 Camry. I moved the electric adjustment completely forward looking for an item and it would not return back to the original position. Both tilts...

I had the same problem on my 2003 Toyota Camry. The threaded drive screws are what spin underneath the seat and cause the seat to move back and forth (same way a garage door opens or closes). When the seat gets all the way in the forward position, the threading on the drive screws ends, which causes the bolts connected to the seat to jam and get stuck. It should sound like the motor is trying to turn but it won't, it just clicks. Un-jam the bolts and rotate them one rotation from the all the way forward position to ensure your seat is reinstalled straight.

There are numerous small motors in the seat mechanism that control the seat movement, and these motors can either go bad or have connection problems.

If you can isolate the problem to which of these motors is the culprit, you can likely get another motor at a salvage yard. They are probably also available from Toyota, but you might get sticker shock when they quote the price.

A motor in the power seat of a 93 Lexus LS 400 that I owned went out, and Lexus was asking $300.00 for a replacement. I purchased an entire seat from a salvage yard for $75.00 and got far more motors than I needed.

You can move the drivers seat back by turning on the power, getting in the seat and position your feet firmly on the fron flor with your back firmly against he seatback, and then engage the switch pushing back - while pushing like hell with your feet. You can actually hear the seat drive shaft turning while the seat moves back. The principle should be the same for moving forward, but pressure would have to be aplide to the back of the seat.

Passenger seat back will not move either direction

Motor on the seat may have gone out, contacts in switch got dirty or worn, or assembly reached limit and stuck. Try sitting in it pushing back hard and adjust. If not youll need to replace switch,b take seat apart to fix or replace.

The seat bottom needs to be moved first. There should be a pull strap between the seat back and seat bottom. Pull up on these two straps and then on the seatback on the side .... is a lever which needs to be pushed upward while pulling forward on the seat. Hope this helps.
