Question about 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser
I have a 2006 pt cruiser. The other night I was driving home, about a week ago, and all of a sudden the lights for all my stuff came on, (in the round circle where it shows if you are on empty or your seat belt isn't on, you know how it has all those other things that light up, like if your battery needs help or your oil is low, etc?), well that lit up, and showed all the things at once, the oil, battery, seatbelt, etc, then it just went off, and it showed only my empty gas tank light. It did this three times. Well, over the course of teh week, all seemed fine, and then this morning on my way to work, it was really cold again, and also was early, it did it again, this time it dinged once after it did it, and it only showed all the lights one time.
Someone at my job who is a mechanic said that when the lights on the panel go on like that on a Ford it means that the alternator is breaking up.
What is this? Is it a chip or is it an alternator problem? I called the dealership and they said it sounds more of a bigger problem than the alternator.
I just had a gasket replaced because it was overheating in June, and a new battery and hoses, and the like (my car was in the dealership for SIX weeks while they tried to find why it was overheating!!!), and four brand new tires. It has 74,000 miles on it, mostly highway, and it's only two years old.
Please help!!! Thank you!!!!!!!
Did you ever figure out the issue??? im having the same problem
