Make sure your charging system is working to par. could be a defective battery, or maybe a draw in the system pulling down battery voltage. not sure about the dash lites. how often if the car driven??

Turn the key and it will not start

cold weather kills batteries this time of year...heres why..most batteries are a chemical factory..the acid and water separate as the battery discharges..also the chemical process is lessened when the air temps go below freezing by around 50% or more depending on the age of the battery..in extreme cold areas, external heat sources are required to keep engines warm enough to run..in alaska for example, the batteries are taken out entirely and put inside to keep warm..sometimes a fire pit is used to warm the engine from below (red hot coals no flame)..also in very cold weather, the engine oil will get very thick..in some cases the oil will actually glue the engine semi solid..locking it up..if its a cheaper oil that whathappens..I like 20 miles north of st louis in illinois and when it gets below 30 degrees outside i place a under cabinet 350 watt heater(used for keeping food warm to serve) upside down under my engine overnite..this keeps the block warm and the oil thinned out..and works very well for me..my car will start whe no one elses will in my neighborhood..hope tyhis helps you..

Auto do not start

How old is your battery? If it's more than 5 years old its time to replace the battery.
Your starter requires a lot of voltage/current to start the engine. Most of the cars accessories only require a small amount- that's why everything else works but the car won't start- the battery isn't able to produce enough voltage to turn the engine over but it can produce enough to make the lights and other accessories work.

1999 porsche boxster ignition will not turn

It could be many things. I would start by checking the Battery. Even if you're seeing lights and power accessories working there may not be enough juice to turn the engine over. If your battery is over 6 years old, especially if it's cold out, then you probably need a new battery.

Har\d to start whe ntemperature is below 30 degerees

Cold weather is extremely hard on batteries - is your battery old? It may need replacing. Also the oil should be a winter grade of oil as specified by your vehicle manufacturer. Oil becomes thick in the cold weather and resists the cranking of the engine. Hope this helps - let me know. Thanks

2001 ford 250 s/dv-10turns over fine. wont start sometimes.when it starts it runs fine.seems like cold weather makes it worse.if it starts it wont die.started about a month ago and getting worse.

Make sure the battery doesn't have a dead cell or is over two years old first. Then depending on usage I would definately think about getting a new starter. I would suspect your battery first, due to the cold weather corrolation.

Battery on a porsche boxster is dead will not start up

If the battery is VERY dead it may take quite a while jump start the car. You may have to run the car with the good battery for five or ten minutes to get enough charge in the old battery to start the car. Other wise a very dead battery will just "soak up" the electricity from the good battery. If your battery was old to begin with it may be unserviceable. I would take the battery out and take it to an auto parts store that can charge and test it. They will usually do this for free.
