Passenger side window won't go back up on 2002 volvo S40

I pushed the button for the window to go down, then again to go up, the window automatically went down into the door and won't go up now.

Try activating it from the passenger side door switch. (working with the idea it is a switch problem).
then try listening real close when you try to roll it up... if you hear the motor running , it is the tape that is the regulator.

Mr.SMITH,before you do try to strip anything, please try to reset your windows bringing them to the correct memory. Sometimes in many times we use the windows up and down, might loose the correct memory and they need reset. Some vehicles to bring the windows back to the correct program the only thing you should do is : sit on the driver's seat, turn the ignition to " ON "position, with your two fingers push at the same time the window buttons down ( if windows are up ) til windows go down, hold the buttons for a second, then do the same to come up for a second .Do this for three times and if is the lost program fault the windows will work correct. If they do not, then it is better for a qualified electrician to get involved for safe and correct job. Good luck.

I have volvo s40 2002 and i don't know how put

You turn the disc button I think it is, to get the numbers up you want, then push in to confirm the number you have and then bingo should be on. If you do not have the code give volvo service dept a quick call with your reg and they will fix you up with the code.

Should be you push down real hard, then pull out on the bottom edge. You may have to work one side loose at a time.

Cannot adjust front passenger seat on 2002 Volvo S40

Hello Jim...If the seat controllers for the S40 are like the C70 you can try this...There is a micro switch on the hinge part of the seat
where the seat back and bottom meet. Just inside the hinge point. There is a spring attached to a metal plate. The spring comes off because one of the tabs holding it breaks. A lot of times you can reach under there and roll the metal plate and get the seat to move back.
Good luck...i hope this helps.
