Does it backfire when accelerate hard, that could be lack of fuel pressure. Could be a plugged catylic convertor. Is the Check Engine light on, could be a sensor out of range.

Winding sound from front on chevy 4wd s-10

I have a 97 chevy s10 4x2. I also have a winding sound coming from the same area. I believe it could be one of two things or both, water pump, power steering pump. keep in mind depending on the size motor you have, the 4.3l vortec wich is what I have and the v8 has a natural winding sound to them in that area. you will know a difference when that winding sound becomes more of a needed replacement part. good luck

My all wheel light stays on, and it stays on, the front wheels, spin rite away, should let back slip then front, grabs. I smelt burning the other day, then the, light came on.

I had a similar issue, it turned out to be the throttle sensor. Might be worth checking out. It kept triggering the 4wd light and the car would go into limp mode.

try starting the car with the accelarator all the way to the floor, this will allow more air to enter into the throttle body.

same thing happens to my 1996 chevy z71.. it just happens because of the age...newer cars use censors so spashing doesnt cause the bobber in the tank to move up and down..

Accelaration loss of power

I'd have a fuel pressure test done to be sure, it isn't fuel related again. Takes 5 or 10 minutes so cost should be minimal. The other thing that comes to mind is a plugged exhaust. (catalytic converter) Quite possible on a 10yr.old vehicle.
