SOURCE: cigarrette lighter wont work

using a test light touch each side of all the fuses one at a time lift seide then right side of fuses. if power on only one side then bad fuse. this fuse should be the same as the radio or acc fuse. also check power to the back of the socket as this connection sometimes burns out.

Ps dont forget to rate the solution. Thanks

replace the oulet...they are known for corroding/rusting & the contacts fuse together causing them to blow fuses and/or not function properly

I obtained a extra lighter socket . run 4mm wire from socket to starter motor solenoid (big terminal) with 20 amp inline fuse , earth socket metal body to the metal frame. works like a charm and have not had to change other wiring.

All my power outlets and cigarrette lighters don't work in my 2005 jeep grand Cherokee. I've checked and swapped out fuses and it stoo don't work. What else can I check?

sometimes these are on a circuit breaker check with a test light for power in the center of your socket then be sure to check the ground if no ground or power always go back to source this circuit may even have a relay

My cigarette lighter won't work. Either the unit is burnt out; the fuse is blown or??? I need to fix this as I need a place to plug my cell phone/computer charging stuff. Any help is gr8!

if you don't need the lighter itself to light up cigarrettes, then get rid of the lighter and using a test light or meter, make sure there is power inside thesocket where the lighter plugs into. if power is already there, then your done and ready to go, if power is not there, then check for an open fuse in your fuse panel...some lighter go directly to the battery, in that case make sure that the wires are not broken somewhere between the lighter socket and the battery

There should be a fuse in the panel under the left hand side of the dash board. It would be labled cig ltr or assy. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer, thanks.
