I decided to donate my 95 cadillac deville 4.9l to the needy, but the gas tank is full of premium gas, what is the simple way of extracting them from the gas tank? I tried to use the siphon method but the hose would not reach the tank, what are other ways to do it? thx
The syphon method is by far the easiest and you should try a smaller stiff hose to get the job done. About the only other way is to find the fuel line that comes out of the fuel pump, disconnect it, attach a hose to it, which could be difficult and turn on the ignition and let the pump, do the work.

Has the engine been tuned up recently? If not, have a thorough tuneup performed. If it has, try purchasing a can of Seafoam fuel additive and pour the can into a full tank of gas. You may see some smokoe from the exhaust as you drive, but that's just the Seafoam doing its job - correcting the adverse effects of ethanol in the gasoline we're forced to buy these days.
Its possible you cooked the pump. The pump needs liquid gasoline to keep it cool and lubed. There's also a chance the pump is damaged from debris from the bottom of the tank. If you have fuel in the tank, you would jumper the pump relay to find out if the pump is running and what is coming out of the filter under the car.
there are allot of hioses and connections to these tanks that can be leaking, the leak in almost always on the top of the tank, u are going to have to get under the car and look for gasoline stains from the leak, if the gas stains go up and over the top of the tank then the tank must come out fro repair.
Replace the fuel filter. The new gasolines with ethanol tend to lloosen any crud in the gas tank, which then plugs the filter. When the engine stalls, the crud falls away, and it will run again until it plugs up again.
