The service engine soon lite comes on due to an input sensor to your vehicles computer that has gone out of its parameters. this lite does not come on due to mileage. the computer needs to be scanned for code #'s in order to diagnose correctly. autozone will scan codes for free. if you get me the code #, ill try to assist further, otherwise you may want to see your local garage.

ever do the 60k mile tune up? if not why not. the are parts that fail soon after 60k miles. filters timing belt, its a toyota engine, 3 types, used. spark plugs and wires set. also known as the 60k mile service point. if all that is good. its one of 3 things, bad compression, bad spark bad fueling. there are tests for each. you can buy tools to do tests. or guess. only 2 ways, DIY, or take it to any ASE mech and its fixed.
The A/C in my 2006 Passat 2.0 T is not working consistently. It seems to quit giving cold air when the outside temp is the hottest. It sometimes works fine until the engine is warmed up-then starts blowing hot air. Any Ideas?
Disconnect the battery, wait 5 minutes, then re-connect it. If that does not work, take it to the dealer. You may not have a problem other than the computer says it is time to turn it on. You may have noticed the same problem about 50-60K miles ago.
