I have a 98 toyota 4 runner. While changing the spark plugs I don't remember which plug wire goes to which coil pack on the passenger side. I need to know from front to back on the drivers side to fron to back on the passengers side. can you help??

first check radiator level if it is full and the heater is working good make sure temp gauge is functioning c orrectly it is most likely the coolant temp sensor but if this is a high milage vehicle and you have owned long time and never changed i would also replace thermostat and check plug to temp sensor forr good conections and good wires
Have you tried replacing the spark plugs and wires? Are the coils giving STRONG blue/white spark, or a weaker yellow/orange spark? Are the wires arcing (try running the car at night with no lights and look for sparks around the wires/plugs)?
I've had the same problem with 2 other vehicles. You might want to check to see that you have GOOD plugs and wires. I have had 2 mechanics install cheap plugs and wires and they arc (short out) frequently against the engine block. Have your mechanic install high performance NGK plugs and wires and make sure they are not touching the engine block. They are a bit more expensive, but honestly, you will save the difference in fuel cost in the first couple of weeks. I did this in my last 2 vehicles and not only did they run much better, they performed better and got significantly better gas mileage. When I bought my 4runner, it was the first thing I looked for, and they were already installed. It runs like a dream.
