The drivers side door has a popping sound everytime it is opened over half way. The sound is coming from the door stop (??) that is mounted to the vehicle and extends into the door when it shuts. Everything appears to be tight

1) Key turns but dose not unlock door. This means that the rod that goes to the back of the lock has came off. This also means that is the reason door is not unlocking with the remote as it pops the lock rod inside the door which pushes the lock open. 2) Key does not turn lock at all but works passengers side door. This means that the locks has been changed in the door, but that doesn't sound like the problem as you say the remote doesn't open the drivers side door so more than likely the rod has came off the back of the lock
could be a partially broken wire in the wiring harness that runs in the door track. the wires are inside what looks like a plastic chain that allows it to move with the door and have seen them partially break not allowing power to flow the whole time
remove arm rest screws, under plug, remove window winder by getting to clip that attaches it to the mechanism(you can see it if you look hard)pull on the door trim carefully and it should "pop"off the door, its held with plastic pins in the door trim that willstay in the door trim, that should do it
For killerbee6 - Lets try the simplist possible thing first. Is the window lock (child safety feature) button pressed in? Its located there on the drivers door with all the other windows switches. If it is, then all windows will be locked in their current location. Also the back doors have their own (child safety feature) manual switch located on the end of the door that opens out (which override the manual "pullup lever" inside, to unlock door)
Second possibility is that the modular connector in the drivers door has seperated from its other half.

For bbmason - sounds like your vehicle was broken into and the theft (which didn't get the truck) may have popped off a switch that is attached to the back side of the key cylinder. That switch tells the Security system a key was used to unlock door, and since its not attached to the cylinder anymore it can't return to it normal 'home/nuetral' state, so when you arm the security it disarms 5 seconds later.
