Question about 2004 Ford Freestar
Replace intake heater switch and still nothing the lights on the dash dont even come on it was starting and then shutting off now it wont even start turns over real good just no fire have chase all conections they look good have check to see if iam getting power to switch iam now i put test light in one side of of switch on little wire coming out and can hear and feel switch come on but stil no lights indicating on dash and no start any helpp would be appreciated have had it over at shop for almost a month they can not figure out problem and cat dont want to work on it here in fort worth

take off starter take it to advance or autozone they will check it free.could be starter relay or starter if battery is good. replace battery cable if they have not been changed.

The dash lights and tailights are on the same fuse link. everything else will work like brake lights and turn signals but this one fuse causues alot of problems. Sometimes this fuses isnt marked on your cover so you might have to look in the maual to find the right fuse . some will be under the hood some will be under the dash .
Good luck to you all on finding this little fuse hope you find it before the cops pulls out behind you when its dark :)

I has an 86 Mustang that did a similar thing and it turned out that the battery actually shorted out. This happens when one of the plates inside the battery brakes off and then touches another plate. When mine died it was like I turned the iginition off. It wouldn't turn over even with jumper cables.
