Hello.honda crv 2oo3 2.0l missfire on cyl 3,4 only when cold.eml light on.all ok when hot

    hi its done 106000,yes new plugs,oil change evey 12-15,000.

    have you hurd of tappets going tight on a high miler.

    FIXED IT.

    THE TAPPETS WERE TIGHT ON 2,3,4, CYL

    ADJUSTED AND STSRTED WHEN COLD MISFIRE GONE.

    APARENTLY A COMMON PROLEM WITH CAR OVER 100,000 MILES.

Hi, This like a problem with the head! I would do a cylinder leakage test on 3 or 4 with the engine cold. You may be looking at a cracked head. Esp if this engine has been over-heated! Frankster016

The tap? Do you mean the knob that turns hot to cold? If you are talking about this i had this problem on my 96 accord. You can pull the knob directly off. Do not twist it because it has interlocking teeth. See if the plastic teeth have been broken. That was my problem. Got a new knob for 7 bucks from body shop but you could just twist it with a wrench if you want(with the knob offf, of course)
