Question about 2003 GMC Sierra

1 Answer

Electrical or computer problem; intermittent

I have had 4 occasions now of an intermittent problem on my 2003 gmc sierra hd2500. It is a 6.2 litre automatic trans. if that matters. On these occasions, a combinations of electrical things stop working.
Sometime it is radio only, it lights and changes channer even operates cd. but no sound at all. Once time is was radio and right window stcuck in down position, one time it was radio and doorlocks would not operate. and one time radio, doorlocks and windows did not operate.

I discovered I could fix it by disconnecting the hot battery lead. What is causing this and is it something that GMC should fix? I took it in one time and they told me the radio was shorted.... it' s not. On all 4 occasions removing the hot wire on battery fixes the problem. Occurence frequency of this problem is about once or twice per year.

You might have a problem with the body contro module, have it tested for codes.

What is the location for the ABS sensor for the rear on a 2003 sierra Truck 4 x4

Just wanted to get you this GMC update for your vehicle before you replace that sensor ,, and unless you have the special tool , you can't do it either,, It requires that tool and they have made it so it needs to be done by them, which at that time they will set the system up again,, ,,,A poor electrical ground under the battery tray may cause the ABS warning light to illuminate. cleaning and properly securing this ground and also the main ABS ground on the frame rail below the drivers door may be necessary.

Where is the oil pressure sensor located on a 2003 GMC Sierra 5.3 litre 305 Vortec?

It is on the top backside of the engine block, behind the intake manifold mounted into the top of the block. You will have to lean up over the engine to see it.

Stalls at idle no fluxuation in voltage at iac

It is most likely the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve.
The valve is supposed to close when the car is idling and open other wise.

Inspect it / Replace it.

Hope this helps!
