Do you have a temp gauge, what does it show?  If the gauge shows a normal temperature, you may have a blend door problem.

No heat when stopped for traffic

1-your thermostate is stuck open half way. thermostate is a simple device that made of enlarging metals when heat is applied. it suposed to be in close position to allow engine heat up, when specified temp reached it opens and let it flow and radiator tries to keep coolant cool.when it is broken it stucks or it acts slow or it wont acts at all. in your situation it is stuck open half way. it allows enough water to be heated but flow is limited to heat cabin heater.

2-if there are cabin heater selenoid/selenoids for two different temperature for cabin left and right, on some instance those selenoid valves to adjust cabin heater stuck open or closed like thermostate acts on first case. so heat is not enough to heat up cabin heater.

No internal heat. Blows cold air . Put new thermostate in

if heater hoses are hot then you need to have some one look at the heater box for a hung blend air door

No heat in front New thermostat and flush still no heat

Sounds like the heater control valve/ blend door. The actuator may be stuck or broken. The actuator opens and closes to adjust for the heat setting in the car. You might be able to take a coathanger and manually open the door if you can get to the control arm. They are usually hard to get to and pretty expensive. It is located under the dash at the heater core box. Good luck.

Luke warm heat

The temp slider moves a cable which opens and shuts a door on the heater box to let outside air in. either that has gone south, or you need a new heater core.

Did he check the a/c heater housing flaps and solenoid/motor links that opens and closes these FLAPS for a/c and heater? Sometimes the solenoid activates and LiNKAGE seems stuck to open the heater FLAPS/DOOR. Bring it back to the mechanic and test those links and motors that i said! Hope that helps u out! taah!

Heater doesn't work. it's like the thermostate will not go from cold to hot. Stuck on cold!!!

The blend door under the dash is intermittently not working and/or stuck in a closed or open position. You will have to get under the dash and check the blend door for sticking or a defective actuator.

My 1997 Saturn sl2 has no heat. Where do I start?

Assuming the rest of the car is operating normally either your heater core is bad or the little door operated by the temp control is stuck open. Both issues are in the heater box, just above the passenger foot well. You may want to take a search on youtube.com as pulling a dash assembly is a pain in the a** and you may want to just live with it as opposed to going through that problem. Alternatively you could call around to some repair shops which do car air conditioning and get a price to have them replace the core. When you pull 2 or 3 dash boards out every week you get good at it and know the tricks.

MY A/C WORKS PROPERLY HOEVER THE HEATING SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. AIR COMES OUT BUT IT'S COLD. WHAT SHOULD I BE LOOKING INTO?

a stuck or broken thermostate would do that if the moter temp takes a really long time to warm up the thermostate is stuck open and needs to be replaced if the moter warms up to fast or over heats the thermostate is stuck shut and needs to be repalced. the heater core its self could be plugged and may be fixed by back flushing with water if you do it your self flushit seperate from the moter to prevent what ever may have plugged it from re-entering it.

Heat dont work might be bad hoses or put on wrong need diagram on how it goes 1993 Chevy K1500 getting sick of the cold

The hoses are two different sizes. One will be 3/4 and the other 5/8.No way to mix them up.May be your blend door not opening alowing air to flow across your heater core.I am not sure if there is a mixing/control valve.Feel both heater hoses as well as your top radiater hose just to make sure that the thermostate is not bad.You can look on napaonline.com and search "heater"to get a look at the door motor. You can remove it and open it by hand to see if you get heat.Well hope this helped.

No heat in 99 saturn sl1 fan blows but little heat

One or more of:

1. Your coolant is low
2. Your thermostat doesn't close and needs to be replaced
3. The valve from the cooling system to the heater core is stuck
4. Your heater core is clogged
